Individual Psychotherapy
Ongoing therapy focused on emotional patterns, relationships, identity, stress, trauma responses, mood concerns, anxiety, and the work of building a more livable inner life.
CSComrie Psychology is the solo practice of Dr. Carter Comrie, a Detroit-based clinical psychologist offering trauma-informed psychotherapy, psychological assessments when clinically appropriate, and SessionGlance After Visit Summaries to help clients stay connected to the work between sessions.
Care is provided by one clinician: Dr. Carter Comrie. The practice is designed to keep the clinical relationship personal while using structured tools, psychological assessment when appropriate, and client-facing summaries to support progress, insight, and follow-through.
Ongoing therapy focused on emotional patterns, relationships, identity, stress, trauma responses, mood concerns, anxiety, and the work of building a more livable inner life.
Psychological assessments may be offered when appropriate and needed to clarify symptoms, support diagnosis, guide treatment planning, monitor progress, and better understand patterns affecting daily life.
SessionGlance After Visit Summaries translate key session themes into a client-facing reflection tool designed to support continuity between appointments.
My name is Dr. Carter Comrie and I am a clinical psychologist based out of Detroit, Michigan. I completed my PhD at the University of Detroit Mercy and have focused on providing trauma-informed care across a range of settings. In addition to private practice, my clinical experience includes hospitals, Veterans Affairs, including work in mental health and homeless services, and integrated health centers.
I primarily take a trauma-informed psychodynamic approach to therapy, with the goal of assisting individuals in living a life they find meaningful and fulfilling. I have also been trained in Clinical Health Psychology and often work with individuals managing chronic mental health concerns alongside chronic physical health concerns. A central part of my work is helping people who often feel as if their concerns go unheard find a clearer voice.
Outside of private practice, I am the co-founder of SessionGlance, a secure, clinician-designed platform that transforms content from psychotherapy sessions into personalized client feedback and billable documentation for psychotherapy appointments and CPT code 96130. At CSComrie Psychology, psychological assessments are also offered when appropriate and needed to support diagnostic clarity, treatment planning, and progress monitoring.
SessionGlance After Visit Summaries are designed to help clients remember the important parts of therapy: themes discussed, emotional insights, goals, coping ideas, and areas to reflect on before the next appointment.
When clinically appropriate, these summaries may be used as part of an assessment-supported care workflow that helps track progress and support treatment planning.
Benefits are verified during onboarding. Coverage, copayments, deductibles, and prior authorization requirements depend on the client’s specific plan.
